Your Greatest Foe

Understanding your enemy will help you defeat it.

Without realizing it, many of us battle with an enemy every day – an adversary that keeps us from achieving our goals, prevents us from climbing the ladder of success, or simply taking actions that we know are necessary to facilitate business growth. As much as we don't want to admit it, this foe lies deep within each of us and usually manifests itself into "the voice" that makes us question what we are doing.

However, if you want to emerge victorious from a tussle with "the voice," it's essential to dig deeper and understand exactly who your enemy is:

  • The enemy of great is good.

  • The enemy of action is over-thinking.

  • The enemy of innovation is routine.

  • The enemy of accomplishment is complacency.

  • The enemy of creativity is conformity.

  • The enemy of success is fear.

When you know your inner antagonist, you can take steps to vanquish it. However, if you don't take the time to truly understand your greatest enemy that stops you from achieving your dreams, you will continue to tread water in a sea of mediocrity.
