It’s Friday and time for a truly spooky brandivate beverage of the week! This week we are enjoying Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Tasters’ Barrel Proof Rye – a gift from one Josh Robbins who sent it to Bill Petrie when he became a Tennessee Squire. This lovely libation clocks in at a stout 127.6 proof and was matured at the highest reaches of barrel house #1-05. The rye yields a deep copper hue and a nose that opens with an aroma full of smoke and raisin, while each sip lingers with molasses, sawn oak, and bold rye spice. When poured over a single skull-shaped ice cube, there may not be a better way to ghost out of the office and into the weekend!

How are you scaring your friends at the end of a productive week? #bbotw

Zombie Zin!!.jpg

It's nice meeting each of you here again for our weekly beverage date and this week we fell for the branding again! What can we say? It's what we do so, naturally, it captivated us!

Wine down with us as we sip on this Zombie Zin from the winemakers over at Chateau Diana out of Healdsburg, CA.

Winemaker notes:

As survivors of the apocalypse we have found refuge, hidden away from the world that was and from those who refuse to die.

We pass the time making wine dreaming of better days gone by.

The Zombie Zinfandel is blood-red in color. The aromas evoke visions of ripe blackberries and cedar coffins. The flavors meld together as an oozy mass of dark, ripe and horridly rich fruit with a layer of black pepper and spice.

How are each of you wining down your busy week? #bbotw

The weather is getting colder which means it’s time for an autumn brandivate beverage of the week!! This week we are imbibing in a cinnamon vanilla old fashioned as we warm our bones by the fire. This is, obviously, a twist on a classic drink which adds the fall notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and clove making this a very complex tasting beverage while only using a few ingredients. And, somehow, it just tastes better at night with a fire.

How are you lighting up your weekend? #bbotw

Cinnamon Vanilla Old Fashioned Recipe

  • ¾ oz Cinnamon Vanilla simple syrup (recipe below)

  • 3 oz Old Forester Rye (or bourbon, if that suits your fancy)

  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters

  • Orange peel

  • Luxardo cherry

  • 7 drops Old Forester smoked cinnamon bitters (optional)

In a mixing glass, combine the simple syrup, rye (or bourbon), and Angostura bitters and fill with ice. Stir – that’ right, stir…you don’t want to shake this – for at least 30 seconds. Strain and pour over a large ice cube and Luxardo cherry in an old-fashioned glass. Express the orange peel over the drink, rim the glass, drop in the beverage, and place seven drops of the smoked cinnamon bitters on top.

Cinnamon Vanilla Simple Syrup Recipe

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 vanilla bean - split

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, pour in the sugar and stir until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and add the split vanilla bean and cinnamon sticks. Stir combine and let fully cool. Strain and put the syrup in a glass or plastic container and refrigerate. Use within three weeks.

pouring one out for EVH

It's Friday afternoon and you know what that means! Bevvy time! We felt this week's selection was appropriate as we celebrate the life of Eddie Van Halen with a can sporting one of the most iconic and recognizable designs of all time. As a marketing, sales and branding company it is hard not to respect the Van Halen brand. It has stood the test of time no doubt.

Named "Little Dreamer" this Extra Pale Ale embodies the greatness that is the collaboration between Revolution Brewing and Piece Pizzeria & Brewery. Unfortunately, they are no longer making this pint so this is an extra special edition of #bbotw.

Join us as we pour one out for one of the most musically talented geniuses of the ages, Mr. Eddie Van Halen.
