People always admire a garden, especially in the deep, dark days of winter. We love the flowers, the trees, and how the landscaping is laid out so nature is truly the star.
However, most people never stop to think about the person who shapes and manages the garden. The gardener is the one who plants the seeds, who protects the young plants from inclement weather, and nurtures them to fully sprout into something beautiful. It truly is an art form with the gardener as the artist.
Without the gardener, there isn’t a garden.
Without the salesperson, there aren’t sales.
In our society, we are conditioned to avoid salespeople, if not revile them. Yet salespeople are the key engine of growth for every organization. Without salespeople and revenue they provide, there would be no need for any other part of a company.
Much like the gardener and the garden, the salesperson is the one who shapes a company for growth. They are the ones who understand how to share the vision of the organization to prospects and clients alike. In doing so, they make the company the focal point, not them.
It’s time we recognize salespeople and the art they create.
